RUFUS – Nationalist Parker Sydd has received the Nationalist Party’s nomination for Governor and is expected to pit up against Governor Joshua Adamson who is seeking reelection. Sydd was confirmed as the Nationalist nominee a little after 11:00 AM.

Parker Sydd, a political outside defeated well established candidates such as Former State Senators Megan Topper and Jared Zitman. Former Ackland Mayor Harold Garten was also among those who lost the nomination. All three candidates immediately backed up Sydd when he was named winner vowing to help him defeat Governor Joshua Adamson during the 2026 election.

“I am looking forward to bringing about the much needed change and pushing back against the anti-LGBTQ sentiment that has run rampant in our state for far too long,” said Park Sydd. “We also need to stop the rich from benefiting off the backs of hard working Mesians and ensure equality and fairness in employment all over the state. We must work to quickly build more homes and work to spend more on benefits and programs.”

Sydd went on to say that he looks forward to debating Governor Adamson and hopes to be able to win the vote from Mesa’s voters. Right now, Governor Adamson is polling higher then Sydd, who is at 28% support with Governor Adamson polling at 36%. Adamson remains a relatively strong candidate with approval ratings showing significant challenges for Sydd.

“I think we need to hold Governor Adamson and his administration accountable for all of the hardships and burden he has put onto the Mesian people for the past 3 years, and giving him another four won’t solve those issues,” continued Sydd. “We need effective leadership that isn’t affraid to put the people over billionaires. It’s time our state works for you, and not the rich. It’s time we safeguard LGBTQ Mesians who have lived in fear since 2014. We will also end blanket policies the target immigrants living within our state.”

The first debate between Park Sydd and Governor Adamson is expected to be sometime next month with both candidates expected to come to an agreement on the date of the first debate. Officials for both parties say they will confirm the dates of debates when an agreement has been reached.
