RUFUS – Mesa Governor Joshua Adamson has formally received the Republican Party’s nomination for Governor during the 2026 Mesa Gubernatorial Election and is set to pit against whoever the Nationalist nominates as their candidate on October 18, 2026.

Governor Adamson has served as Governor since May 9, 2023, following the resignation of the Late former Governor Kirk Paul. Adamson remained a strong candidate during the 2024 and his popularity remains at an all-time high, as Republicans continued to take control of Government’s across the country.

“I am honored and humbled to serve as the Republican Party’s nominee and to be able to continue serving each and everyone of you,” said Governor Adamson. “Together, we will keep Mesa free, traditional and for the great people of this state. We will not let woke win and we ask voters to hit the polls to keep Republicans in control of the Governor’s mansion, State House and Senate. I look forward to being able to continue delivering results for our beautiful state.”

Republicans across the country including President Laylin weighed in on his nomination, vowing to back Joshua Adamson for Governor until he is reelected in October. President Laylin said that he was happy that Governor Adamson was nominated.

“I am extremely happy that Governor Joshua Adamson was nominated to serve as the Republican candidate for Governor as he will continue protecting the state’s children from woke and inappropriate content in schools,” said President Jay Laylin. “Governor Adamson continues to prove that Governor’s have the power to protect our kids, end wokeism, and end the transgender madness that has plagued the country with mental illness for too long. I fully endorse him as I have in other elections.”

Adamson if reelected will serve the state’s first 4-year term and will serve the term until 2030. Adamson is the highest polling candidate between Republicans and Nationalists-alike and experts say it is no surprise he won the nomination for Governor.

“Governor Adamson has incumbent’s advantage and remains extremely popular, I don’t think there was going to be any contest there,” said State Senate Jordan Benks. “There is going to be a challenge within the Nationalist party to pick a candidate who at least stands a chance against Governor Adamson. In the last three elections, Nationalists lost each election, so trying to come back from that for them is going to be tough.”

The Nationalist Party has still yet to name a nominee, but they still have two days left to decide, with Parker Sydd still the most likely nominee. Sydd is the strongest polling candidate, but also the least known.
