RUFUS – Senator Nolan Burmaster has introduced a bill that would provide funding to the National Coalition Of People For Free And Fair Immigration that works to prevent Government from falsely and unfairly regulating immigration. The organization was created on November 21, 2024 after President Jay Laylin began his deportation operations.
In a statement to the press, Senator Burmaster said that the organization was an extremely important part of the legal and fair immigration system that should base immigration applications on merit, legality and fairness.
“This president has continued his assaults on the immigration framework currently in place by our government that has existed for centuries,” said Senator Burmaster. “This organization works to provide legal counsel to those seeking immigration status into our country and prevent the Laylin Administration from illegally removing people seeking asylum or visas from the country while their case is getting settled.”
Senator Burmaster’s bill has garnered support from Senators Kevin Levertti, Patrick Greasy, and Senator Matthew Lossi. The bill will need to be voted on and sent to the House for final approval which is unlikely to pass given the Republican support for deportation efforts.
“This bill will safeguard our legal immigration framework regardless of President Laylin’s feelings on it,” said Senator Kevin Levertti. “I hope Republicans will do the right thing and vote in favor of this funding bill. It is important for our immigration system.”
Senator Greasy said Republicans need to ‘man up,’ and ‘do the right thing,’ and pass the bill. Greasy has been pro-immigration since he became a Senator back in 2023.
“I wholeheartedly support this bill,” said Sen. Greasy. “Republicans are hate-filled bigots who hate anything that is no naturally Jesstopian. Even hard-working asylum-seeking immigrants. It is shameful and we must do everything we can to protect them. This organization and this funding bill is essential to protect that sacred system that built and continues to build up our country.”
The bill is calling for 85 million dollars for research, expansion and operational funding. The bill is facing a steep uphill battle as Republicans control both chambers of Congress, making it highly unlikely to fail to receive enough support to pass it. President Laylin also seems very unlikely to sign the funding bill into law, given he controls the Nationalist House.
