RUFUS – Governor Orion Cantolese has won reelection winning 272 vote bank points, as Marcelli only receives 265 vote bank points. Cantolese has served as the 1st Governor Of Lisbon since 2021, and has continued to push for diversity, equity and inclusion programs, working to strengthen to support for the LGBTQ community while also pushing back on gang and gun violence.

Cantolese will be sworn at the State capital for her second term, and will be sworn in at 8:00 AM. She will be sworn in by Lisbon Supreme Court Justice Evan Spanberger. Cantolese is calling for the state legislature to push for stricter penalties for hate crimes in the state following the stabbing of three transgender students at the University Of Lisbon, Mayberry early last month.

“I am beyond proud to be able to continue serving as your governor for the next two years,” said Governor Orion Cantolese. “We have accomplished so much this far, and we have a lot still left to do. I look forward to working with Nationalists and Republicans alike and will work to deliver a stronger, safer and more inclusive Lisbon for all.”

She also thanked Marcelli for his kind words following his election concession. Marcelli was just 7 vote bank points shy of the 270 and becoming the 2nd Governor Of Lisbon. He said that he would seek other political offices and would “likely” seek another go at becoming Governor. Marcelli also said that he “wishes governor Cantolese well as she continues her leadership.”
