RUFUS – The Nationalist House confirmed early this morning that President Laylin has nominated former 2026 New Shire gubernatorial candidate and former New Shire State Police commissioner Lorenzo Marley to succeed Barry Wilkenson upon his departure from the administration come January.

President Laylin’s administration had been floating several names around for potential nominees for the role, with Marley being one of them. According to officials close to the selection process, Marley had been at the top of President Laylin’s list. Marley’s nomination was announced via the President’s GovMedia account.

“I am pleased to announce that I have nominated Lorenzo Marley to serve as the next Director Of The Federal Crimes Investigation Service. His extensive career in law enforcement and special operations will make him an exceptional candidate for the role after the departure of Barry Wilkenson in January 2027,” wrote the President on GovMedia. “Together we will continue to effectively lead the agency that is responsible for investigation major federal crimes in our beautiful United States Of Jesstopia.”

He said that Lorenzo Marley “exemplifies law enforcement,” while praising his nominee for FCIS Director. He also went on to release a press release on the Nationalist House website.

“I am pleased to announce that I have nominated former 2026 New Shire Gubernatorial candidate and New Shire State Police Commissioner Lorenzo Marley to serve as the 54th Director of the Federal Crimes Investigation Service,” read the President’s press release. “Lorenzo Marley who has faithfully served the great people of New Shire has been selected and nominated to serve as the 54th Director of the Federal Crimes Investigation Service to replace outgoing Director Barry Wilkenson.”

If Lorenzo is confirmed as the next FCIS Director he will become the 54th Director of the agency. Lorenzo was nominated after Barry Wilkenson announced that he was resigning from his role in early 2027. He announced his departure from the Laylin Administration on March 27.

“He served New Shire honorably as the head official in the New Shire State Police. He exemplifies law enforcement, has the knowledge on investigative measures, holds extreme experience in special operations and will ethically and faithfully lead the agency and drive the agency further into the future. I look forward to his quick confirmation by the Republican-led Senate.” finished the President’s statement.

The Senate is likely to quickly confirm Marley’s nomination as multiple leaders of the Senate support Marley’s nomination. Senate officials have confirmed whether they would support Marley’s nomination, but Senate leaders have in fact confirmed that constituents should expect them to support his nomination.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Rodham said that he would support the nomination as he says he is “more than qualified to lead incredible agents, investigators and employees.”

“I think Lorenzo Marley is more than qualified to serve as the Director of the FCIS as he has the qualifications to lead incredible agents, investigators and employees,” said Majority Leader Larry Cofelt. “I have full faith and confidence in Marley’s leadership abilities, having served as the New Shire State Police commissioner for four years.”

Nationalists also seem relatively likely to support his nomination confirming that they believe that he will lead with honor, integrity and lawfully within the constraints of the authority of his office. Senators from both party’s will meet with their committees to ensure that a speedy confirmation hearing than confirmation vote takes place.

Experts are saying that the confirmation hearing won’t likely take place until Fall, with Wilkenson departing office the day he is confirmed which still has yet to be confirmed. Wilkenson is facing growing calls to resign before January with many in the Laylin administration calling his continued work with the administration “destructive.”

The Senate will release the date of his confirmation hearing and his Senate confirmation vote at a later date, and provided that it has no intentions of releasing that date any time soon. The Senate website will provide a tracker for the progression of Marley’s nomination and confirmation.
