RUFUS – President Jay Laylin early Friday morning signed Amendment 32 of the Fair Housing Act into law, which would now require the disclosure of all information of tenants who are non-Jesstopian citizens and would mandate that their applications be filed and reported to the Jesstopian Federal Government. It was signed in an effort to combat illegal immigration and the retention of illegals and preventing them from taking up valuable housing from Jesstopians.

The President signed the amendment, which will now take effect in August. This will give property managers across the country a chance to evict any person holding rental agreements using a foreign passport, licensure or identification, and will also mandate that they report any and all residents who are not legal Jesstopian citizens. The amendment makes it a felony for any “property manager, property owner or renter to refuse to disclose citizenship status on rental applications or to the federal government.”

The amendment has been criticized by Nationalists for what they call “an illegal invasion of privacy.” The act has been criticized by former House Speaker Braden Harris who is also running for President in 2028. He says that this violates the Tenant and Renters Privacy Protections Clause of the Fair Housing Act.

“How can we allow the violation of the Tenant and Renters Privacy Protections Clause of the Fair Housing act be trampled,” said Representative Braxton Tasker. “This act was designed to ensure that all people, regardless of background could be protected from unfair housing practices and that their information is protected from government overreach such as what we are seeing now with the Laylin Administration.”

Other officials are calling on Nationalist Congressional officials to work on reversing Amendment 32 of the FHA. Senate Minority Leader Larry Cofelt says that he will work to propose Amendment 32A which he says would work to reverse Amendment 32.

“We will not let this stand and will actively work to pass my Amendment 32A which would ultimately reverse Amendment 32,” said Minority Leader Larry Cofelt. “We will continue to work to stop the Laylin Administration from changing the rules of the game to benefit his administration and his agenda.”
