RUFUS – The House Impeachment Committee early this morning voted on impeaching President Laylin which failed in 9-3 vote. Representative Maxine Rivers launched the impeachment inquiry against President Laylin after he ordered airstrikes against Iran.

The committee which met early this morning, said that the President has “authority to launch any airstrikes he deems necessary for the preservation of life, protection of Jesstopian and allied assets, or for the direct addressing of threats to other nations.” They said that the Constitution grants President Laylin the right to order airstrikes.

“I think it is ridiculous that the Nationalist party is trying to impeachment President Laylin, Secretary Of State Vance, and Defense Secretary Willard,” said Chairman Marcus Lerner. “We rejected Maxine Rivers attempt to falsely remove the President, Defense Secretary and Secretary of State overwhelmingly with bipartisan support. We urge Representative Rivers to review the Constitution and learn the role of President.”

The committee’s rejection of the impeachment against President Laylin is set to be followed by the rejection of the impeachment of Secretary Willard, and Secretary Vance. Republicans and Nationalists alike agreed that there was no substantial evidence that suggests President Laylin or his cabinet secretaries did anything wrong during the airstrikes.

“President Laylin has every right to defend our military, country and allies by any means necessary that does not kill, maim or seriously injure innocent civilians,” said Representative Tejan Hernandez. “The President had a clear and concise plan, and no civilians were harmed in the airstrikes as Iran continues to be a threat to our country and allies. I reject the impeachment plans happily and urge my colleagues to reject the other impeachment articles as well.”

The committee is scheduled to vote on the impeachment articles for Bradley Vance and Corbyn Willard next week but say they expect a swift rejection of both impeachment articles for both men. Experts say that even with Committee support of the impeachments, it would have failed in the House as Republicans tighten their support for President Laylin and his cabinet.

Lawyers for the State and Defense department say that the impeachment inquiries are political in nature and serve to stiffen the legal work that the Laylin administration is doing to secure Jesstopia’s future, safeguard Jesstopia’s allies and are politically motivated. They say that had Secretary Vance and Secretary Willard been impeached they would have appealed to the Supreme Court.
