RUFUS – President Laylin may receive some relief following testimony from an ex-staffer who said then-Senator Laylin was in the Maldives when Ashley Sobar claimed the drugging and rape took place. Laylin’s defense team requested a copy of the schedule that showed he was in the Maldives at the time of the Rape.

Federal Judge Tonya Aspendale ordered that all records related to Jay Laylin’s Senate travel schedule be entered into evidence as well as evidence that he was in the Maldives the day the rape allegedly occurred. She also ordered the witness to provide records that he was in the Maldives.

“I am ordering that the defendant provide records that can prove that he was in the Maldives on June 7th and 8th,” said Judge Tonya Aspendale. “I also order the witness who will not be part of this case to provide receipts that show Laylin was in the Maldives within 30 days, to ensure consistent and and an evermoving trial.”

The order was filed with the Federal Court of New Shire’s 8th Circuit, and was executed immediately upon Judge Aspendale’s signature forcing the witness and the defense to get receipts that he was in the Maldives at the time of the rape. The defense says this piece of information will exonerate the President who is accused of the rape while serving as a Senator for his second term in 2015.

“This is huge,” said a lawyer representing the President’s legal defense. “This witness will be a major player in this case and we intend on using him again. We have continued to work hard on day 30 of this trial to prove this President’s innocence and we will bring to win home for Jay Laylin who has been wrongfully accused of rape, one the worst possible crimes that could be perpetrated against someone. We will see this thing through to the end.”

The Judge Aspendale recessed court for the next week as prosecutors hope to nail more evidence on President Laylin who was then a Senator at the time of the crime. The trial is expected to resume next Monday, with the defense requesting an extension to the break which was denied.
