RUFUS – Lorray swore in Governor Nicole Pitless for her third term as the State’s 40th Governor. In her swearing in speech, she vowed to support several state bills aimed at expanding child protections and the fair education act that was in the works since 2023. The bill is set to pass a key hurdle as she starts her third term.

After her swearing in, she told supporters and attendees that Lorray will be the “hotbed for child protections,” while “working to ensure parents have the right to make decisions regarding their children’s education.” She said that her work as Governor will take aim at the LGBTQ community, ensuring that their ideals our not pushed onto students under the age of 18.

“We must continue move forward as we have done for the past four years. We will work to ensure our children’s education institutions are promoting a learning environment that develop the skills they will use later in life,” said Governor Pitless. “There is simply no time to push an agenda, especially one that says there are anything but two genders onto children under the age of 18. We have already passed strict education measures to ensure LGBTQ material are not provided in school settings around our state.”

The State’s education department sued over 25 schools since 2022 for pushing LGBTQ materials in schools, and worked on over 1,700 investigations into complaints filed by parents across the state, also since 2022.

“We will work to ensure that schools are held to account for what is being passed onto our children, and we will hold school districts accountable for learning curriculum and materials that violate our state’s education laws governing what is taught,” continued Governor Pitless. “Schools are meant to teach students valuable skills, enhancing their education and their futures, not pushing transgender ideology.”

Pitless is set to meet with State leaders later this month and various other officials across the state in the coming months. She has advocated for a state bill that would provide higher child tax credits to struggling families, increased benefits for eligible for Lorrayans on food stamps and to reform the State’s Energy Savings Program for low-income families.

“Let’s continue bettering the lives for all in our state and let’s do it together,” finished Governor Pitless. “Thank you for trusting me to serve you as your governor and I look forward to the progress we will make in the next two years.”
