RUFUS – Governor Joshua Adamson is preparing to return to work following his April 24, assassination attempt. Governor Adamson’s security detail is set to double upon his release from Alden County Medical Center Wednesday. His security team confirmed they are ready for his return.
Governor Joshua Adamson was the subject of an assassination attempt on April 24, 2026, being struck multiple times in the back by gunfire. He was rushed to the hospital where he was looked after. Governor Adamson is expected to deliver a message to the State upon his return to his duties.
“Governor Joshua Adamson will return to work Wednesday, where he will continue to recover,” said the Governor’s press secretary Beverly Clinton. “Security for the Governor will be increased as he returns to work, and security will increase security measures at the Governor’s mansion and while the Governor is out. We are glad to have him coming back.”
Governor Adamson has not issued a statement about his return to his duties, but we can expect that he will issue a statement before he returns Wednesday.
“I am glad he is coming back and look forward to continuing the work we started together,” said Lt. Governor Gregory Brentwood. “We will continue to deliver results for our state and having him back will allow us to continue working on what matters most to the Mesian people.”
Mesa Highway Patrol commissioner Lewis Donaldson that he is working with the Governor’s office to ensure that the adequate deployment of troopers to aid in the protection and security of Governor Adamson is available upon his release from the hospital on Wednesday. He says they will tighten security around the Governor wherever he travels.
