RUFUS – President Jay Laylin early this morning issued a shocking announcement to the press, where he announced that he would be seeking a second term in 2028, vowing to continue to defend Jesstopian values and continue pushing forward with his agenda. The President’s announcement comes a surprise as he was scheduled to deliver a decision in June.

The President currently is polling as one of the most popular political figures in Jesstopia and has high approval ratings in the economy, immigration, and foreign policy. He is also polling higher in low-mid income areas of the country where he has targeted high costs of living, high inflation and above average gas and fuel prices. His work to strengthen social and family programs of the Federal government also gave him high approval by families who rely on food stamps and other programs and services provided at the Federal level.

“Since taking office as the 3rd President Of The United States Of Jesstopia, I have continually worked to deliver more for the Jesstopian people,” said President Laylin in his morning press conference. “Together we have provided more for the people, working to restore our secured borders, deport millions of illegal aliens, rapists, child and human traffickers, murderers and drug smugglers. We have continued to work on Iran and working to end their terrorist regime, that continues to threaten the people of Iran.”

President Laylin will be 38 at the end of his current term and would be 42 at the end of his second term if he wins in 2028. President Laylin continues to vow to unleash Jesstopia’s tremendous potential and working across the aisle to deliver more for the Jesstopian people.

“Jesstopia has not fully unleashed its full potential, and we will continue to deliver results for the Jesstopian people,” continued President Laylin. “We must ensure that we leave our country in good shape for our children, grandchildren and their kids, and leave it better than we found it. That is why I am running for reelection in 2028. I am also pleased to announce that Vice President Cole Bindle will also seek reelection alongside me.”

Supporters and allies of the President say that “the best of what our country has to offer is now closer than every,” and say that “a second Laylin term would be instrumental to strengthening Jesstopia’s place on the global stage.” House Speaker Gregory Harks was the first to speak on his announcement.

“I think Jesstopia just let out a huge sigh of relief, and you may be asking what I mean by that,” said House Speaker Gregory Harks. “I’m sure as many of you in this room are aware, President Laylin just announced that he is seeking another term in 2028, and I think, at least on the Republican side, Jesstopians sighed a huge sigh of relief. His announcement comes as Jesstopia is safer than it has ever been and that is thanks to the aggressive and successful deportation efforts and immigration enforcement efforts of the President and his administration. Because of him, our country is safer and our kids a safe from pedophiles, rapists and murderers who enter our borders illegally and are immediately sent home.”

North Lorray Governor Joey Rigg said that his announcement should be a “moment to celebrate.” He said that President Laylin is the “only person to steer Jesstopia to traditional values and solidify those within the culture of our country.”

“President Laylin is an incredible world leader and his announcement is a moment to celebrate,” said Governor Rigg. “He has consistently proven to be a strong, decisive leader who is not swayed by political correctness or jeers from those who oppose his policy. He is also the only person to steer Jesstopia to traditional values and solidify those within the culture of our country. I look forward to him winning reelection in 2028 so we can continue living in a sane, competent world.”

New Shire Governor David Rivera says he is concerned about a second Laylin term, citing “current immigration enforcement operations that have seen long-term displacement of children of those deported from Jesstopia.” He also criticized the Laylin administration’s handling of several immigrant complaints filed by two separate federal courts.

“Now learning that President Laylin is seeking a second term in office in disheartening at best. He continues to trample the rights of millions of immigrants hoping to seek the safety and refuge of the United States Of Jesstopia,” said Governor David Rivera. “His announcement sparks serious concerns especially about his current immigration enforcement operations that have seen long-term displacement of children of those deported from Jesstopia. I am also concerned that he is seeking another term as well as his Justice department does not seem to be taking immigrant complaints seriously even as multiple complaints were filed with New Shire’s 18th and 27th circuit courts. I for one do not support and will not support a second Laylin presidency.”

House Minority Leader Gregory Wallace has said that a second Laylin term would spell trouble for LGBTQ Jesstopians across the country and would “see the elimination of all healthcare services and other valuable programs be diminished before the 2032.” Wallace has been a vocal critic of the President and continues to call for accountability from the Laylin administration.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Rodham says that he will support the President’s bid for a second term, and says most Republicans should “fall in line,” behind the President. He said that he would happily campaign for the President should the need arise.

Other officials including Secretary Of Defense Corbyn Willard, Secretary Of State Bradley Vance, and Secretary Homeland Security Jerry Meckler each applauded the President’s decision to seek another term, as they continue pushing forward to deliver on the President’s agenda.

Now that President Laylin has officially entered the race, other candidates seem likely to announce their bids. Several Republicans are seeking to challenge President Laylin during the 2028 Presidential Elections, and several Nationalists including former Vice President Travis Loretti now say they are determined to defeat the President by any means necessary, saying they are committed to protection LGBTQ Jesstopians.
