RUFUS- The Adamson and Sydd campaigns have agreed to a second debate and confirmed that September 30 will be when the second and final debate will be held between Governor Joshua Adamson and Parker Sydd. Both campaigns confirmed that the date was agreed to by both candidates with the specifics of the talks not being revealed.
Governor Adamson was ranked as the better performing candidate during the August 29th debate and overall scored higher with voters compared to Parker Sydd who they say showed his lack of political experience against Governor Adamson. Adamson has been pushing his anti-LGTBQ stances during campaign stops as he enters the final stretch of his campaign before next month’s election.
“This is the final debate and I believe that both candidates need to perform well here to gain any sort of advantage over the other candidate,” said Nick Shrilla, a political analyst from the Jesstopian Politic. “Adamson has incumbency advantage because more than 80% of incumbents go onto win reelection and he remains extremely popular as the more unknown Parker Sydd is slowly crawling to the top hoping to make his policies stand out above Governor Adamson. But they both remain popular among their voter base.”
Both men are seeking to be elected to the State’s first four-year term and as stakes remain high ahead of September 5’s Senate elections. Republicans hope to retain control of the Mesa House and Senate and are working to retain the Governor’s office. Nationalists in recent elections have struggled to gain grip on the Governor’s office. Nationalists have also faced struggling polling in other races including Mesa’s Attorney general and other various local elections.
