RUFUS – The prosecutors in Jay Laylin’s trial for the alleged 2015 rape, beating and drugging of a former staffer, say that his testimony is the “key focal point,” for their evidence. The prosecution say that his testimony will show a different angle to his “innocence.” Judge Aspendale said that she is “considering it.”
The President has been busy in recent weeks, and the court must weigh the necessity for the President to appear before the court over his role as the Nation’s president. Aspendale says that “considerations must be made as he leads Jesstopia,” and is the “chief executive of the United States Of Jesstopia.”
The prosecution has requested that President Laylin testify on his role in the Senate office the night the alleged rape took place. Evidence suggests that the two we in the Senate office, but the prosecution has not gained on new evidence including any seminal fluid that may have been documented the night the alleged crime took place.
“We must look at the fact that President Laylin, who at the time was a Senator in the Jesstopian Senate,” said lead prosecutor David Starnum. “We can’t let the person who being accused of these horrific crimes escape public scrutiny and forcing him to court will allow the public and the legal system to get justice. I call on Judge Aspendale to require his appearance in court.”
President Laylin said in previous statements that he would “fully cooperate with investigators and court proceedings to ensure that his name is cleared,” and his defense team is now trying to stop him from testifying. Prosecutors believe the first-hand testimony from Laylin will provide them with the evidence needed to convict the president of the sexual assault.
“As I have said from the very beginning, I am innocent whether people want to believe it or not,” said President Laylin. “I will not stop my cooperation, and I am more than willing to testify in court. The prosecution wants me there they just need to ask. I’ll be there.”
