RUFUS – Cameron Governor David Spane will be sworn into his second term at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning, where he will start his second term in office. Spane will be sworn in by Cameron Supreme Court Chief Justice Nickolas Svarti. Spane’s current term will serve run through 2028.
Governor Spane’s press secretary confirmed that Governor Spane is ready to continue to lead the State as he gets ready for his inauguration tomorrow. Spane last month announced a legislative bill proposal that would aim to criminalize all-gender bathrooms in schools, hospitals and public use spaces. He also is set to deliver his 2027 budget proposal to the State legislature in August, just days ahead of his budget proposal deadline.
“It has been the honor of my life to serve this great state, and I look forward to being able to continue to serve it as it’s governor for the next two years,” said Governor David Spane. “We will continue the great work we have started, and I look forward to the next two years as your Governor.”
Spane has enjoyed relatively high popularity among State voters but drew the exact number of Vote bank points necessary to win reelection. It shows that his popularity decreased significantly since the 2024 election. Spane remains popular among conservative Republicans.
