ASPEN – President Jay Laylin met with the Press in the Nationalist House Press Briefing room where he discussed the allegations that were leveraged against him as the investigation picks up traction. The President continued to deny any wrongdoing and said he would “never harm another human.”

A confident President Laylin entered the Nationalist House Press Briefing room where he welcomed everyone in before getting to the discussions about the case against him. In his first statement about the situation, his lawyers urged and directed questioning for the President.

“As many of you know, I have been accused of something that is beyond the scope and reality of human decency,” said President Jay Laylin. “For the better part of my adult life, I have always advocated for women’s rights, worked on legislation to strengthen domestic violence programs for battered women and children. I’ve always supported organizations that took in women off the streets who were escaping from abusive and sexual situations. So to have such a disgusting allegation launched against me blindsided me, to say the least. I will always be for protecting the vulnerability of women and these types of cases. It’s just a disappointing thing to be accused of and I fully intend to fight these allegations, as I have said before.”

The President went on to say that he would be looking and having his legal team look at all credible evidence and look for issues, citing his “position of authority being the hotbed for allegations, alluding to his predecessors many cases and accusations that all turned out to be found untrue.’ He says that evidence would show that he is innocent of the rape allegations.

While conducting his press conference live, other Nationalists say that the President is trying to gain brownie and sympathy points, calling him a “fraud,” and “danger to women everywhere.” Former Representative Francine Wallis said she would be working to uncover truths of what else was taking place behind the scenes.

“This President is a perverted, narcissistic and psychopathic individual who I believe should be removed from power,” said former Rep. Francine Wallis. “He is simply naming organizations he’s worked with, and that does not somehow make in him innocent. He is a fraud and a danger to women everywhere. He must be stopped.”

Wallis had previously filed impeachment articles against the President for abuse of powers and high crimes and misdemeanors. The impeachment did not take hold and quickly collapsed. But other officials confirm that they would try to remove him from power. They also call his failure to resign “a disgrace to the office.”

Former House Speaker and former Representative Braden Harris calls the House or Senate, now led by the Republican Party, inactions’ unacceptable. He said that “the House and Senate have a duty to protect the integrity of the Presidency,” and “should move quick to impeach the President.”

The President’s stance on not resigning doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon as Republicans refuse to move forward with impeachment talks. House Speaker Gregory Harks says that the House “will not engage in what ifs,” and said that “President Laylin is innocent until proven guilty.”

Many state Republicans including Governors Joshua Adamson, Joey Rigg, and Nicole Pitless say that these allegations are “coming forward at an extremely convenient time,” as the “2026 Senate elections are just around the corner.”

“It’s quite rich seeing as we have an election right around the corner and all of sudden this ‘victim’ comes forward to claim the President, who as a Senator raped her just seems like time playing,” said Governor Nicole Pitless. “President Laylin has come to our state to advocate for women’s rights and spoke with Rape victims. I am disappointed that these allegations went as far as they did because it just seems suspicious that now is the time they are coming forward.”
