RUFUS – Polls in New Shire, Cameron and Lorray have closed and officials in these states have begun counting and certifying the votes that were cast today. The Federal Elections Board says that it will take about 1-2 days to certify all 20+ million ballots cast today.

“We know everyone will be eager to learn who won the elections in Cameron, New Shire and Lorray, but these vote counts take time and as such to ensure accurate race certification, will result in somewhat longer processing times,” said Federal Elections Board Director Craig Henderson. “We will call these races when every single vote has been counted, certified and approved by the State’s election and certification centers. Please be patient as poll workers continue to work through sorting ballots.”

State leaders are also calling for patience as ballots are counted. Governor David Rivera says that the results will come as they are certified and that voters should “give poll workers, ballot counters and election certifiers time to ensure a fair election is called.”

Other officials including Cameron State Representative Marvin Hauk, said that he trusts in the process and says that voters should “patiently wait for the results to roll in.” He said that it “takes time to count millions of votes.”

The federal elections is estimating that all current races will be called by either Sunday or Monday, but reminded voters that these estimates could change as ballot processing continues.
