RUFUS – The Jesstopian Aviation Safety Administration has confirmed that 105 people were killed when a Y-Dot Airlines flight crashed in the Sea Of Jesstinian early this morning. According to officials, the crash happened between 2 and 3 AM, with the first calls coming from a boat captain on the Jesstinian Sea.

“Right now we are trying to locate any wreckage from the crash, but we know that the first call came into us about the crash just after 2:00 AM,” said JASA Director Karen Bassett. “We are investigating this crash and we hope to have some more information for you as the investigation progresses but right now we do know that it is Y-Dot Airlines flight 645 which was flying from Los Angeles International Airport headed for Alden International Airport. We don’t know right now what could have been potential causes, and are currently looking for both black boxes.”

The flight was carrying 105 people with 5 crew and 100 passengers. Investigators have not confirmed if any survivors were located as the Jesstopian Coast Guard and Navy continues its search for any people who could have survived the crash.

President Jay Laylin lowered flags to half-staff and announced that flags would be at half-staff until the very last passenger and crew member were located and recovered from the sea.

“This is a horrible, tragic accident that claimed the lives of 105 Jesstopian citizens,” said President Laylin. “My heart absolutely aches for the victims and their families and have directed every possible resource to the site of the crash. My prayers are for the recovery of any survivors. We ask any witnesses who saw the plane crash come forward with any information to help investigators.”

Investigators are now turning to the boat captain who noticed the crash and investigators say they will be speaking to him later today. Other witnesses are being sought, but JASA officials don’t believe there were any one in the area that could have noticed the plane crashing.

“What we know so far is that a plane went down,” said Navy Secretary Col. Frank Hackert. “We are working with the Jesstopian Coast Guard in recovery. As of now our search has yielded no survivors but we remain hopeful. We will continue our search as long as we need to ensure that we comb every area of the ocean that these passengers and crew could potentially be.”

Y-Dot Airlines spokesman David Lockland, says that the airline will cooperate with investigators as they find a cause of the crash. They also said that the airline is committed to notifying all families of the passengers and crew aboard the flight.

“This is a horrible, horrible tragedy and we remain committed to working with investigators to find the cause of the crash and notify all passenger and crew families,” said David Lockland. “We are sadened at the loss of life that resulted from this crash and at this point can only offer our prayers as investigators work to find the cause of this crash.”

CEO Jordan Marcello did say that the airline would be providing travel and housing accommodations for the affected families and would provide housing and meals to the families affected by the crash of the flight.
