RUFUS – After nearly six months of speculation circulating around the country about President Laylin’s intentions in 2028, President Laylin announced that he has said that he will announce his intentions for 2028 in June. The announcement comes as Republicans plan to announce their bids in 2028. Several high-ranking Republicans say they are looking to challenge President Laylin if he chooses to run for reelection.
The Nationalist House released a statement regarding the President’s decision to announce his intentions for the 2028 Presidential Elections. The Nationalist House did not hint at whether he would run for reelection or if he was planning to follow former President John McCallum, who chose no to seek another term in office in 2024.
“President Laylin will announce his intentions for the 2028 Jesstopian Presidential Election in June and right now he will continue to focus on the work for this current term,” read the Nationalist House statement. “There will be a formal announcement issued sometime in June.”
President Laylin says the announcement is selected for the midway point before the elections in 2028, and says that he will reveal his intentions, but also did not hint at any potential answers now.
“I think the Jesstopian people have made it very clear that they want to have an announcement from me on what I plan on doing in 2028, and that is why today I am announcing that an announcement will be made sometime in June,” said President Laylin. “In June I will reveal what I plan to do, and I know that several Republican Congressman have approached me as Republicans plan to announce their intentions starting this week.”
Republicans including Representatives Bert Mattox and Craig Martin have also expressed interest in potentially running but have not officially announced presidential bids. Nationalists are also slowly announcing intentions with several key Nationalists already announcing their campa
