RUFUS – Jerry Meckler has been officially sworn in as the 25th Secretary Of Homeland Security after being confirmed by the Senate in a 78-2 vote, which is the largest vote difference for any candidate ever. Meckler remained popular with DHS officials and Homeland Security Committee members.

Meckler now heads the largest government agency in the United States Of Jesstopia and one of the most important. He is set to deliver remarks later today and will also address employees of DHS for the first time as its Secretary. Meckler did say he looks “forward to serving as the Secretary that will protect Jesstopia’s homeland,” while also giving tribute to the late DHS Secretary Marcus Welder.

“Marcus Welder was a man of honor and distinction and without his ultimate sacrifice, I would not be standing here now as the 25th DHS Secretary,” Meckler wrote on his personal X account. “There is a lot of work for us to do to continue our mission of keeping our borders secure, our homeland safe and our people more prosperous then ever.”

Meckler is also set to take part in several of his first cabinet meetings starting next month, including joining the world’s Homeland Secretaries and Ministers, whom he is scheduled to speak with during a European state visit. Meckler said that he looks forward to “working with all DHS employees.”

Meckler was sworn in just after 6:00 AM, and his swearing in was attended by his Wife Maybel, and four children. President Laylin was also in attendance, albeit, in the background. Vice President Bindle was absent as he is headed for Germany with a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, regarding global security. Other officials included Defense Secretary Corbyn Willard, Secretary Of State Bradley Vance and other cabinet officials.
