RUFUS – The Jesstopian Senate advanced President Laylin’s DHS Secretary Nominee Jerry Meckler’s nomination in a vote of 14-3 with only three Nationalists on the Homeland Security Committee voting against his nomination, pushing the vote to the Senate Floor. The Senate is scheduled to vote on the nomination on Monday morning. The vote is expected to pass as Republicans fully supported his nomination before taking the Majority.

“We knew we could get this nomination moving forward and we promised the President that we would get it done,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Rodham. “We are continuing this process and hope to vote to confirm him by Monday, which is the Senate’s plans as of now. We will continue to provide updates when we can.”

The Senate questioned Meckler on issues, and he beat down Nationalist grilling with ease. During one point, Senator Brandon Went begin verbally abusing Meckler who calmly expressed that “Senator Went is one brain cell away from stupid.” This left the committee-room in laughter.

Meckler cleared the Senate with majority support from Nationalists minus 3 Senators who voted against advancing his nomination. The Senate said that it decided that he was the best person to lead the Department Of Homeland Security and had full Republican support.

“Mr. Meckler, you are the perfect person to lead this agency and I know you will do the late and great DHS Sec. Marcus Welder proud,” said Senator Francis DeLard. “I know he will guide you spiritually and will ensure you are headed on the right path through the coming years. I look forward to supporting you on the Senate floor on Monday morning.”

Republicans have been working to quickly pass as many nominations for various roles as President Laylin has been announcing and they said that Meckler’s nomination and confirmation hearings were the major nominees the Senate was focused on getting passed through relatively quickly.

Nationalists are still supporting his nomination even as 3 refused to support him on Committee. It is expected that he will be nominated without facing too much of hurdle and will likely be sworn in Friday, December 12, 2025, if his nomination is confirmed quickly by the entire Senate.
