RUFUS – All members of Congress have been sworn in for their new terms and have already begun the process of meeting with party leadership ahead of this afternoon’s Senate and House leadership. The members were sworn in a little after 2:00 AM.
The House of the people swore in 40 new Representatives and the Senate swore in 17 members. The House and Senate majority was won by Republicans during the 2025 House and Senate elections and was the first time the Republicans have been in the majority since the founding of the United State Of Jesstopia.
“It is time we get to work for the Jesstopian people and reverse many of the harmful policies and laws of the Nationalist-led government,” said Gregory Harks, interim Senate Majority leader. “For the last 2 centuries Nationalists controlled our government, passed work policies and destroyed the values of our country.”
The Senate was also won by the Republicans as they took the majority at 2:00 AM this morning. Senate Republicans took their oaths of office administered by Vice President Cole Bindle.
“It’s an exciting time for Senate Republicans, who are now in the majority for the first time in our country’s history. This is a historic day, and Republicans will get to work for all Jesstopians and not just their voter bases,” said Vice President Bindle. “We are ready to get to work to pass meaningful legislation that will benefit all Jesstopians.”
House and Senate leadership will be decided around noon later today as interim House and Senate leadership meet to discuss legislation that is currently on the House and Senate floor, which will not be voted on until leadership in both chambers is selected.
