RUFUS – Former Second Honorable Lady Trisha Banks’ body has been exhumed and buried next to her husband, former Vice President Richard Banks who died on September 12 from cancer.

Trisha’s body was exhumed with a heavy security and law enforcement presence before her body was moved to the Nationalist Burial Grounds, where she was laid to rest. The family said they ‘were happy they were reunited in death.’

Banks’ body was scheduled to be moved at the beginning of the month, but the family said they were not ready to move her body, especially since Richard and her were in the midst of a divorce but ultimately decided that it would be the right move, as “they were not officially divorced or separated.”

“The move happened a little after 4:00 AM and we were successfully able to transfer her body to the Nationalist House burial grounds where she was interred next to her late husband,” said Presidential Protective Service Director Gerald McFarland. “We worked alongside the New Shire State Police, Rufus County Sheriff’s Office and the District Of Rufus Police Department, to get this mission accomplished. I thank our partners for their support in this dignified body transfer.”
