RUFUS – Vice President Cole Bindle was asked during an interview if he would consider running for President, even pitting against incumbent Jay Laylin. During the interview he rejected the idea of going against President Laylin. He even said it was “a ridiculous thought.”
Bindle was asked if he would ever consider challenging President Laylin, and if so, would he consider a bid for President in 2028. Bindle didn’t say if he had future plans to run for office but he laid out his position.
“The President and I work hand-in-hand to ensure we are creating laws that benefit the Jesstopian people. Since assuming this role in November, I always have seen the President as a close friend,” said Vice President Cole Bindle. “I have seen the incredible work he has done. It is a ridiculous thought that I would ever run against President Laylin, and that won’t be happening in 2028. We have three years to go, and we haven’t even reached the 1 year mark of our Presidency and Vice Presidency respectively.”
He went on to say that a sitting President should never be ‘overshadowed by his Vice President.’ Experts are saying that shows his true loyalty to the President. Vice President’s traditionally will only run for office if the incumbent is term limited or chooses not to seek reelection. As it stands currently, President Laylin hasn’t announced if he was seeking reelection or if he would be a one-term president. Even so, it doesn’t seem likely that Bindle would be willing to endure the stresses of the Presidency at 76.
“My duty is to serve the President, and ensure his policies and programs are presented to help improve the lives of all Jesstopians,” continued the Vice President. “I will continue to serve by his side and guide him as he continues to govern our nation. We will focus on the current and not hypothetical.”
President Laylin and Vice President share a relatively close friendship., and their goals include ending LGBTQ nightmares across the country, reduce government spending, and promote economic growth.
