RUFUS – President Jay Laylin has called an emergency cabinet meeting following the shooting of DHS Secretary Marcus Welder early this afternoon. The meeting was called at around 4:10 PM, and members of the entire cabinet were seen entering the Nationalist House, for that meeting.
Officials are not disclosing what the meeting is about, and officials are still not releasing information on Secretary Welder’s condition, likely signaling concerns for Welder’s health. Nationalist House Press Secretary Nancy Yates has ignored questions related to Welder’s condition and is currently refusing to answer questions related to the Secretary’s whereabouts.
“I will not be answering questions about the meeting and what will be discussed, and I am also not going to disclose the whereabouts of Secretary Marcus Welder,” said Press Secretary Nancy Yates. “We know where he is, but we will not disclose that location at this time. It’s a National security issue.”
Experts are saying that Secretary Welder’s condition is way worse than thought and others say that Welder may have died at the hospital. Others simply say that the meeting could be about increasing Security details for cabinet members. The closed-door meeting is currently ongoing.
According to sources, President Laylin is scheduled to deliver an address to the nation later tonight, and officials are keeping tight lips on what the address will be about. Again, Nationalist House press officials are thinking it will be to address the nation on this afternoon’s shooting.
