RUFUS – Department Of Homeland Security Marcus Welder has died after he was shot early this afternoon that Nationalist House confirmed through on statement published on the Nationalist House website.
Welder died four hours after he was shot at the Nationalist House Medical Center where he was being treated for gunshot wounds to his chest, and head. Doctors attempted to perform lifesaving surgery but were unable to save his life.
According to doctors, Welder had lost so much blood that his arteries started collapsing making CPR extremely ineffective. Doctors tried to seal his chest wound but the bullet damaged part of his his heart allowing blood to flood into his chest cavity.
In his statement released on the Nationalist House website, he vowed justice for Welder and said that he was directing the Department Of Justice to treat his murder as a ‘terrorist act.”
“I am sad to have to report that DHS Secretary Marcus Welder has died from his injuries he sustained this afternoon after a gunman shot him in the chest and head. We are now treating this as a terrorist act, and will send as many resources as humanly possible to find his killer. A member of this administration, he served the Jesstopian people honorably and with distinction. We will feel his loss moving into our first year in office next month.” said President Laylin in the statement. “We thank him for his service to our country and we know his legacy will live on forever. I pray for the Welder family, including his wife and children. May Secretary Welder rest in eternal peace.”
The Federal Crimes Investigation Service is ramping up its deployment of assets to track down the assassin who killed Welder. Homeland Security officials are also ramping deployment of assets to the areas that the shooter could have traveled.
“This is now a assassination case, and it complicates and increases what assets we can use to find this shooter,” said FCIS Director Barry Wilkenson. “His death hits close to home and we will not rest until his killer is caught.”
Deputy Secretary Patrick Wheat will serve as interim DHS Secretary until President Laylin can find his successor and the Senate confirms his appointment, which he is likely to wait for until after Republicans take control of both the House and Senate.
Officials are not releasing any further information at this time as the investigation transitions into an assassination investigation. The Nationalist House says it will not be issuing any further statements regarding the assassination until the investigation concludes.
