RUFUS – President Jay Laylin has pardoned Mike Uldridge, of Uldridge & Sons, A Funeral Home, after he says he was targeted by the McCallum-Department Of Justice for what he says they called “a backend illegal operation handling deceased people.”
Uldridge was sentenced to 25 years for the “mishandling and misuse of a deceased individual(s), which is a federal felony under current Jesstopian laws. The law that he was cited to have violated dates back to 1869, and was meant as a way to prevent funeral homes from scrapping dead bodies from burn piles, as plagues ran rampant through early history Jesstopia.
According to a federal court filling, Uldridge was accused of mishandling the corpses that were “entrusted into his care under the statutes of the United States Of Jesstopia and the State Of New Shire.” He was sentenced back in 2021, just months after President McCallum took on the Presidency.
Pardon Attorney Hannah Freelander, said that the conviction was rushed and “there was very damning evidence that suggested that the conviction of “mishandling a corpse or deceased human body,” was largely political, as funeral homes were being accused of mishandling decedents from 2018-2024.
“The sentence was unjust and unfair, and we worked hard to get his conviction overturned and today that hard work paid off,” said Freelander. “Thanks to President Jay Laylin, Mr. Uldridge can live a full life, and hopefully, make a name for himself following his release. The President just gave Mr. Uldridge on new lease on life.”
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mr. President. The evil McCallum DOJ, wrongfully convicted me of the unthinkable, and tried to throw my life away. You gave me a brand new outlook on life, and I look forward to being able to reestablish my self as an honest, and dutiful mortician.”
