RUFUS – House Speaker Matthew Carrington has died at the age of 32. The House Speaker’s death was unexpected according to his family. Carrington served as the 33rd Speaker of the House for the shortest amount of time in the history of the Speaker’s office.

He is expected to receive a state funeral and President Jay Laylin lowered flags in honor of his service to the country as Speaker and as a Representative. His body is expected to lay in state at the Capitol until Friday, starting tomorrow. No further information has been provided at this time regarding his funeral or his burial arrangements.
