RUFUS – Governor Harry Richards swiftly and marginally won reelection to his second elected term after assuming office following the death of his predecessor Governor Robyn Dykes following her death on August 26, 2022. He defeated Nationalists challenger Trina Dreidel who conceded the election following the release of the elections results.

Richards received Dreidel’s concession phone calling his win decisive and wishing him the best for his new term. She also said that she would seek other political offices. She says that the defeat “is bitter-sweet,” citing her ability “to make it to the top two.”

“I thank Trina Dreidel for her kind words of encouragement and conceding the election,” said Governor Harry Richards. “She was an extremely formidable challenger. I wish her the best in whatever she plans to do now.”

Governor Richards will be sworn into his second elected term on June 25, 2026. He is expected to be sworn in on the front steps of Acacia State Capital. In his victory speech Governor Richards said he would continue to work to strengthen youth camp programs, increase spending on benefits programs of Acacia.

He says his plans also include working to establish a workforce program for those with special needs, something he says the state “desperately needs to ensure career opportunities are open to all Acacians.”
